Hannah and Matt arrive at Bistro by the Bay.

Sherry:  Good evening, Ms. Saunders and Mr. Plath.
Hannah:  Good evening, Ms. Silverman.  It's nice to see you again.
Sherry:  Likewise.
Matt:  Good evening.  It's nice to finally meet you in person.
Sherry:  It's nice to meet you, too.  Thank you both very much for coming.  Let me give you a tour of the bistro.

Key Point:  When you've talked to someone on the phone or emailed back and forth, you can say "It's nice to finally meet you in person." when you meet them.
Hannah and Matt arrive at Bistro by the Bay.

Hannah's is out of the office.

Matt:  Good afternoon, Vanguard Advertising.
Client:  Hello.  This is Jack Tanaka from Hip Hop Solutions.  May I speak with Hannah Saunders, please?
Matt:  I'm sorry, I'm afraid she's away from her desk at the moment.  May I take a message?
Jack:  Yes, please ask her to call me back as soon as possible.
Matt:  Alright.  Does she have your number?
Jack:  Yes, she does.
Matt:  I'll give her the message.  Thank you for calling.
Jack:  Thank you.  Goodbye.
Matt:  Goodbye.

Key Point:  "I'm sorry, I'm afraid she's/he's away from her/his desk at the moment." is the best way to tell someone that someone is not available to take their call.

Hannah is having lunch with a co-worker.

Hannah:  How was your weekend?
Sarah:  Good.  My family and I went to the fireworks festival on the lake.
Hannah:  That's nice.
Sarah:  Yeah, the kids really enjoyed it.  How about you?
Hannah:  It was good.  I went to the beach with some friends.

Key Point:  "Hanabi" in English is "fireworks".

Bruce and Sherry are talking.

Sherry:  Achoo!
Bruce:  Bless you.
Sherry:  Thank you.

Key Point:  In English-speaking countries, it's polite to say "Bless you." after someone sneezes and "Thank you." after someone says "Bless you."

Hannah is talking to a co-worker.

Hannah:  Are you ready for your pasta sauce presentation?
Matt:  Yes, I think so.
Hannah:  We have to be at the restaurant at three o'clock so we should leave here by two.
Matt:  Got it.

Key Point:  "Got it." is a more casual way to say "I understand."
