コヒーレンス機能を搭載したParallels Desktopの製品版が公開
Intel プロセッサ搭載 Mac 上で Windows XP などの OS を仮想マシンとして動作させるソフトウェア「Parallels Desktop for Mac」の製品版が久々にアップデートされた。
この新バージョンでの最大の特徴は、Windows アプリケーションを Mac 上でネイティブなアプリケーションのように動作させることができる機能「Coherence（コヒーレンス）」で、β版ですでに体験した人も多いことだろう。
今までの通常モードから Coherence モードに切り替えると Windows デスクトップが消え、Internet Explorer や Outlook などの Windows アプリケーション・ウィンドウだけがそのまま残り、Mac のデスクトップとシームレスに繋がって、これまでの仮想化ソフトウェアには無かったすばらしい体験ができる。
