Crazy fo PINK

As a collector of all things pink, I was trilled to be among the first to see Sugino's new pink crank . Brilliant! I snagged one of the 20 limited edition KyotoLoco crank sets as an omiyage (souvenir) for my best friend back home at the Flea Market during the Chie Matsuri alleycat weekend. Among the tables and shelves full of cute caps and such from Depot shop in Tokyo, a variety of foreign and local courrier bags, Surly components, Messenger KAZE sweatshirts, Vigore t-shirts, some secondhand bikes, and bar tape and seat covers from Eirin shop in a plethora of colors and textiles American bike shops could hardly dream of, Mr. Sugino himself (dressed in a pink cardigan and dapper cap) mingled with guests.

He even brought a delicious cake that his wife baked! What a charming man! The pink crank is not of the same quality as the SUGINO75 (for those who are familiar with the line of products), but it is so cute! And if you have that pink Chris King headset, it would match nicely. At a special $100 Flea market price, it was a steal! Now we'll have to wait and see if he puts it into production for the US market. Meanwhile, my friend will be the envy of all pink-lovers in the East Coast bike scene!
