野生のバラ科バラ属の植物、ローズヒップはバラの果実です。
ハンガリーの国中で生息しています。
私たちの農園でも数種類の品種を栽培収穫しています。
代表的なものは、イヌバラ種。
ローズヒップはハンガリーだけでなく中世のヨーロッパ全体で
魔よけの枝として神聖なものとして使用していました。
城門の四隅にとがった枝を立て掛けて悪魔から守ると信じれてきたのです。
また赤ちゃんの湿疹治療のためにローズヒップ湯に入れて治療していました。
カロテンと同様にビタミンCとP（フラボノイド化合物）が豊富なローズヒップは、
お茶やジャム、シロップなどで体のバランスを調整する働きがあるので好まれています。
また、不飽和脂肪酸が豊富でビタミンAが豊富なシードオイルは、
スキンケア製品の有効成分として、美容業界で使用されています。
ローズヒップの果実は強壮剤に使用され、また収斂作用にも優れています。
また、果実油には、皮膚軟化剤、および皮膚コンディショナーとして重宝

DESCRIPTION
Wild rose species are hardy plants native everywhere in Hungary. The following species are found and collected: Rosa jundzillii Bess. (raublatt rose), Rosa tomentosa (Whitewoolly rose), Rosa rubiginosa/eglanteria (sweet briar or Eglantine), R agrestis (field briar), Rosa zalana/R caryophyllacea var. Zalana, Rosa obtusifolia (round-leaved dog rose), R corymbifera (pale rose), R caesia.
It has a significant role in folk beliefs not only in Hungary but also other European nations due to its thorny branches, which were thought to catch evil spirits. This is why it was hung on stable doors, placed at the four corner of the plough land and used for whisking the cattle to prevent curses.
It was rarely used in folk medicine: e.g. the bathwater of babies suffering from rashes was poured on dog rose bushes.
There were lots of beliefs in relation to dog rose connected to the escape of the Holy Family and the sufferings of Virgin Mary. Depending whether according to the myth the dog rose helped or hindered the flight of the family, it is regarded as either a blessed or accursed plant in different regions.
USE IN ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE
Rose hip is an important source of Vitamin C and P as well as carotene; consuming it in the form of tea, syrup or jam contributes to the balanced functioning of the body. The oil of the seeds, rich in unsaturated fatty acids and Vitamin A, aids digestion and is used by the beauty industry as an active ingredient of skin care products.
USE IN COSMETICS
The fruit of rose hip is roborant and astringent, and the oil of the fruit pulp is an emollient and skin conditioner. Due to its valuable active ingredients, rosehip is highly effective in treating sensitive, seborrhoeal and irritated skin prone to rosacea and acne.
