Dick: Yes. Wha is it?

Yuko: (This is an) Enpitukezuri.

本番の英会話が始まったら、
言いたいことを表現するのに必要な英単語を知らなくても悩んではいけません。
その和単語を知っていたら、すぐにそれを相手に向かってはっきりと言いましょう。

そうしたら、日本語の分からない相手は、次のように疑問の気持ちでその和単語を
まねてくるでしょう。

Dick: Empitukezuri??

その時、その発音が上手だったら、"Yes. Very good." のようにほめてあげるのです。

Yuko: Yes. (Very good. Korewa) Konnafuni tsukaimasu. 〈With a gesture.〉

そして、このように日本語で説明しても、きちんとジェスチャーをすれば、言いたいことは
きちんと伝わるのです。

Dick: Oh, a pencil sharpener.

Yuko: Pencil sharpener?

ところで、知らなかった英語の語句を相手が言ってくれたら、このようにその場で一回でも
まねて、確認がてらに発音練習をしておくことです。

Dick: Yes. (It's) A pencil sharpener. Very Good.

Yuko: (A pencil sharpener.) Thank you.

Japanese with Gesture will Solve Expression Problems

Dick: Yes. What is it?

Yuko: (This is an) Enpitukezuri.

When a real English conversation has started, even if students don't know the

English words to express what they want to say, they should not be troubled.

Instead, they should instantly say the Japanese equivalents to the partner.

Then the partner who doesn't know Japanese will try to repeat the words with

an asking or comfirming mind whether they have said so.

And when the partner's pronunciation of the Japanese is good, they might praise

it saying "Very good." etc.

Like this, if accurate gesture follows an explanation in Japanese, what they want to

say will usually be communicated successfully.

This is a very important thing to know for the beginers of real English conversation

And when the partner has given them the English words, they should repeat them

at fewest once to confirm their pronunciation and to learn them if possible.
