Oooh! We haven't had a bust in ages!
We look a quick look at her on the live broadcast on NicoNico the other day, but she really is amazing to see up close. Those of you who watch the anime, let me try and put it like the main character:
'I'll explain a little later as to exactly why Good Smile decided to make a Akashi bust... but let's just take a closer look at the bust first!'
...something like that? (Sorry, I had to try ^^;)
Anyway, let's get onto the review!
Here is the beautiful bust!
It's a non-scale bust of Akashi-san who comes from the show 'The Tatami Galaxy' which originally aired during Fuji TVs noitaminA block in April 2010.
She's the beautiful black-haired girl and underclassman of the main character!
This is the original illustration!
A key visual that was also used on the 1st volume's package. As you can see the original had her looking through some binoculars, but the actual bust instead has the binoculars down by her side with her turning her head to the left instead.

...that's right! But for those of you who didn't notice...
The illustrator, Yuusuke Nakamura, is the same person who did the popular CD jackets used on ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION's albums!
This is how she looks from the back!
Look how the collar on her uniform is blowing up in the wind! Plus her hair looks so soft!! Her white skin also looks so smooth!
Look at those long delicate fingers!
They look so realistic that I almost expect them to start moving when I look at them... just look how the pink finger bends, isn't it perfect!?
The binoculars are also gorgeous!
It's not just Akashi herself... the entire figure is finely detailed! Even the little bird from the original illustration is part of the figure!
Five mochigumas stuck onto her shirt!
Akashi loved those mochigumas so much! Unfortunately they don't have the don't have the same soft feeling as they did in the anime, but they're still adorable!
The more I look at her the more I get the feeling that the bust really does capture her very nicely...
By the way, does anyone know who sculpted Akashi-san?
It was in fact the same sculptor who was responsible for the Miku "World is Mine
" figure, Sakurako Iwanaga!
Let me give you a quick rundown as to why GSC picked up this project...

Well, that's using my phrasing, but it wasn't far from that all! ^^;
The publisher actually asked for Ishikawa-san specifically!
