Shibuya Parco - Part 1!
I'm normally the kind of person that just stays at home where it's nice and quiet, so once in a while when I head to a big city I'm really surprised by the amount of people there are.... it reminds me of the crowds at Comiket and Wonder Festival!And in case you're wondering what exactly I'm doing here....
The first ever joint exhibition of world famous artists David Choe and James Jean is being held here!
To be exact, it's being held on the 6th floor of the Shibuya Parco Part 1 building - as I got there I was greeted by this giant glass wall!
It really creates a classy atmosphere!
Today there was a reception party for all the people involved with the exhibition!
It seems lots of guests arrived before me! Even though it seemed like a very classy party I ended up going in my normal jeans and casual clothes...
There were lots of drinks prepared!
I wonder if it's alright for me to drink some....
I was really nervous, so I got Enon and Akiyama-san to hold it for me!
The glass and even the plates looked really expensive!!
There was delicious tarts, ham, salmon... plus beer! All the food was made especially for the party and isn't normally available!

Oooh.... there really are a lot of people here!
The exhibition was split into three different rooms: A David Choe room, a James Jean room and the L.A SECRET STUDIO room.
This is the James Jean room!
James went to an art school in New York and after that went on to win seven Eisner Awards! Apparently he has offers for his work from big names like the Rolling Stones and Prada! Isn't that incredible?!

A deer and a dog! The attention to the smallest of details is amazing!
This was done with a ball-point pen!
There were also bigger paintings!
Are these oil paintings? The use of color is absolutely stunning!
(I think James might be really disappointed with my descriptions if he ever reads this blog....)
The David Choe Room!
David is the youngest artist ever to have a personal exhibition at MOCA (Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles). He has won a variety of awards all over the world due to his various different works.
A model to accompany the illustration!
This skull was made by Good Smile! It was sculpted by Tasshiiko and Kouji Tashiro.
I'll introduce a few of his images too!
This was my favorite painting at the show! This lips give it a kind of erotic feeling. ^^;
BRS-chan!
Wow... what a unique rendition of her!
He also did a painting of the sword version of BRS-chan, so if you can be sure to go take a look!
The L.A. SECRET STUDIO Room!
This is the Los Angeles studio that James and David draw for!
They had a little video on how they produce the works.
There were also some goods for sale!
Nice T-shirts with the art works printed on the front! The shirts were going for ¥4000.
Little figures as well!
They were selling these vinyl figures of "Whale"-chan, which was designed by David. They came in a variety of colors and each went for ¥1000.
Tote bags!
These would make for some fancy packing! They cost ¥2800.
They also had key-chains!
These were made by GSC's accessory division, Dico Kick!
The prices varied between products, but one was about ¥3800!
Ah-hah, we found James!
From the left we have Ena-san from GSC's foreign operations division, in the middle is James and on the right we have Aki! James was very friendly, good humored and had a really nice aura about him! But I was too nervous to say anything to him! (He was speaking English anyway ^^;)
There were also posters on Spain Hill!
A total of six of them! Aren't they gorgeous! There are posters put up all around the area, so if you're in the area just look around!
