China assails US Taiwan arms deal

China's state media has accused the United States of "arrogance" and "double standards" in pursuing arms sales to Taiwan.

The state-run China Daily and the Global Times also warned that China's threats of retaliation were real.The Obama administration approved the $6.4bn arms sale to Taiwan last week.

Chinahas warned of "serious harm" to relations between the two powers, thesuspension of military contact, and sanctions on the US companiesinvolved.

中国国営メディアは、アメリカが台湾に兵器を売る事について追求し、横柄でダブルスタンダードであると非難した。国営メディアとグローバルタイムズ紙は、中国の報復の脅威を警告した。オバマ政府は先週、台湾へ64億ドルの兵器を販売したことを明らかにした。中国政府はアメリカ企業への制裁を含め、アメリカとの軍事交渉を停止させかねない重大な事態であると警告した。
