As you may know, everybody who has the smartphone with newer than Android 2.1 can use Google Earth. It's one of greatest free application in Market. But I have a concern that Xperia X10 update 2.1 cannot utilize this, because pinch-in gesture is necessary to operate Zoom-out, so Xperia X10 doesn't implement multi-touch function so far.
In case of Zoom-in, users can use double-tap in place of pinch-out. But in Zoom-out Google arranges only pinch-in gesture. I found out this operation specific by Google when I used Desire by htc. If Google will modify the operation specific that software zoom-in bottom (like a Dolphin browser) is added and so on, it's no problem. however if Google doesn't, probably Xperia X10 update 2.1 cannot search Google Earth in Android Market same as android 1.6.
The multi-touch function is always more important than one thinks and Xperia X10 users must have disadvantage by no-implementation of multi-touch until Sony Ericsson will implement it in future update 2.1x.
If Sony Ericsson won't do? I hate to think about that.
