ウチとマジな話したことある友達は
自分が なんでこの曲が好きか よく分かってくれると思う．
で B-BOYの〝Show〟を定義してみる．
【Show】
①見せる・示す ②上演・出品する ③教える
④見せ物にする・見せびらかす ⑤表情に出す ⑥明らかにする
翻訳文中では ラッパーらしく「ショー」ではなくて
「ライブ」って訳してみたけど 「ステージ」って言いかたもしっくりくるね．
日本人が「俺のショーだ！」って聞いて浮かべるのは
①・②・④ の ちょっと利己的か もしくは目立ちたがり屋なニュアンスだけど
英語の〝Show〟は なんとも意味が広すぎる．
でも この〝The Show Goes On〟リリックの場合は
〝The show must go on〟「何があっても止めるわけにはいかない」
ってなるように ①・②・③ ＋ ちょっとした使命感
・・・みたいな スパイス付きの動詞になってる．
ルーペ ぜったい いいヤツだ．
このＰＶは ルーペ・フィアスコがライブに赴く楽屋から始まるんだけど
バックヤードを抜けて 自分の信念をラップしながら
光のないステージ裏まで来るんだよね．
