NBA Feet: Summer League 2009

Over the course of the past few weeks, various NBA Rookies, free agents, and journeymen have been competing in the 2009 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. While a number of you were rooting for your favorite new players including the likes of Blake Griffin, Hasheem Thabeet, DeMar Derozan, Brandon Jennings, Steph Curry, and more, Sneaker News was busy focusing on what these various players had on their feet. From the looks of things the Nike Hyperdunk still seems to be the shoe of choice, even after a year, as it was seen on a a number of players throughout the Summer League. Additionally it seems that various players have taken a liking to various Jordan Brand products including the Air Jordan XII “Nubuck”, Air Jordan V “Toro Bravo Pack” 3M, Air Jordan True Flight, Air Jordan XI from the Countdown Pack, and the Air Jordan Force Fusion IX. Nike Basketball’s lowest cut and lightest shoe to date, the Nike Zoom Kobe IV, also made a number of appearances on various players ranging from George Karl’s son, Coby Karl, to Chicago Bulls’ Rookie James Johnson, as well as Oklahoma City Thunder Rookie James Harden. Wizards swingman, Nick Young, debuted the Nike Hyperize in the White Men Can’t Jump colorway. However no player in the Summer League could top the New Orleans Hornets’ Point Guard, Chris Paul, when it came to sneakers, Paul was seen courtside during one of the Hornets’ games wearing a pair of the brand new Air Jordan Sixty Plus shoes.
