In the year 2003, my former boss introduced me 'snowboarding." When I was a kid, I wanted to be a surfer and took skateboard. My passion for the extreme sport came back!!
Year 2005 was a turning point in my life. I graduated from Creighton university with master degrees in Spring. My last performance at CU's international student banquet. I get to perform with another Japanese musician who played drums.
Then I discovered Omaha Jitterbugs. I really learned that I don't need to be like other guys who just sat down while music was on! LOL At that time, I thought men must force themselves not to dance! The truth was that they just did not want to. Releasing myself from my own prison, my self confidence grew. I even challenged Creighton Idol singing contest. I was a bit scared and did not know how well I would do. It was great that I overcame my fear. I was a 2nd place!
I searched for a karaoke bar in 2006. Jitterbugs people recommended me "MICS Karaoke". In Japan and Hawaii, karaoke bars start from 11 AM so I went there at 6 pm with my co-workers. Nobody! LOL I learned that Omaha's Karaoke started at 9 pm which was a bit culture shock. MICS provided me a great practice ground for my stage performance. I was in a band in my high school and was missing the stages!
