School of Distance Education is closing?

Or a major restructuring?

After established for 50 years?

The school will be decentralised and the lecturers will return back to their original school?

Original school? Isn't this is their original school?

A lot came across my mind after I read the posts in the students group.

A petition was raised by the students and alumni https://chng.it/rVJ4CLCHtp

It must be very hard for the students and lecturers to accept these changes.

For me, I do hope that the school can continue to sustain the way it is. A pandemic definitely should not be used to judge the demand for the courses. All the lecturers have worked extremely hard in advertising and marketing distance learning courses. Due to tight budgets during the pandemic, of course the intention to study must have been postponed. Actually a more strategic plan should have been proposed by the upper management in the coming years to overcome the issue.
