Hello! I am Dean
Today and yesterday I taught 13 lessons at our Shinjuku Branch of Dean Morgan. The closer we get to April the busier things get around our schools. It is always a busy and exciting time where I get to teach a few extra lessons in addition to my regular CEO related work.
At the end of last year I took off some time to finish writing 残念な人の英語勉強方 with 山崎さん. I also spent a few weeks back in the United states visiting my family in late December and early January, seeing my brother, his kids, my parents and grandparents is always great.
The first core value in our company core values is 1) Everyone from the CEO down is required to teach at least one full day of lessons a week. Recently we have been a bit busier than usual, so I have had the opportunity to get into the classroom and teach a little bit more than usual. It has been a real joy to really get back in the classroom and teach.
Getting into the classroom and teaching for a few full days in a row refreshes for me what a truly rewarding profession teaching really is. We have really engaged and committed students, and teachers who are both committed to our company, to each other, and to our customers. That to be quite honest really motivates me both as a teacher and as a CEO. This last few weeks has been especially rewarding as quite a few of our students bought our book 残念な人の英語勉強方 in a bookstore without knowing that I wrote it together with Yamazaki-san. It has been a lot of fun when they find out that I actually wrote it together with Masashi.
In my next blog I will write a little bit about what it was like writing the book 残念な人の英語勉強方 together with Masashi.

英語の発音

ハミングバードの紀子です。
英語発音レッスンに通っている中級レベルの生徒さんから、この本を読んだ感想を先日いただきました。
「すっかり忘れていた部分が細かく書かれていて、勉強になりました。
特にP114の呼吸の深さに関するところは、初級の頃は意識しながら練習していたんですが、最近はスピードも速くなってきたのであまり意識しなくなっていました。 また初心に戻って頑張ります！」
と笑顔でコメントをいただきありがとうございました。
英語発音を伸ばしたいという気持ち、前向きに取り組まれている姿勢に私も刺激を受けました。
生徒さんの笑顔がスタッフのエネルギーの源ですね

ノートのとり方
こんにちは

8章に“レッスン中にノートをとってはいけない”というトピックがありますが、私もその通り！と思いました。
スクールの生徒さんとお話をしていたときも
『レッスン中にノーと取る事に夢中になってたら話してる内容聞き流しちゃいました
』
。。。。
この話を聞いてやっぱりレッスン中はノートではなく、会話に集中するのが一番
と改めて実感。
私事ですが、会議のミニッツ(書記)も同じだなと思う今日この頃。。。。この前の会議で書く事に夢中になって会議
の進行についていけなかった。。。
