TOEICまで後約一ヶ月

単語数を増やすには、試験日が迫っているいないに関わらずひたすら継続するしかないと思っているので、今日も今日とて単語のお勉強です。

「colleagues」
noun

a person that you work with, especially in a profession or a buisiness
a colleague of mine from the office
We were friends and colleagues for more than 20 years.

同僚ですねえ。それにしても、20年来の友人だなんて羨ましい限りです。では次ですね

「blink」
verb

when you blink or blink your eyes or your eyes blink, you shut and open your eyes quickly

まばたき、点滅ですね。さて次ー

「transplant」
verb

to take an organ, skin, etc
from one parson, animal, part of the body, etc.and put it into or onto another

Patients often reject transplanted organs.


移植するですね。organも多分臓器だろうけど、念のため調べてみます。

the part of body that has a particular purpose, such as the heart or the brain; part of a plant with a particular purpose

正解です。今日は調子いい感じだ。

「kidney」
noun

either of the two organs in the body that remove waste products from the blood and produce urine

体に二つある臓器、、、、腎臓ですね。調子がいいけどこのへんで今日はおしまい。反動でしばらく更新しなくなりそうなので

問題集を買うと満足しちゃうタイプです。

問題集を買った瞬間、なんなく問題集の中身を習得した気分になるのは私だけじゃない筈です。。。せっかく買った問題集を無駄にしないために、問題集からピックアップした単語を調べて行きたいと思います。

まずは「plant」です。植物で間違いないと思いますが、確認は大事です。

「plant」

a living things that grows in the earth and usually has a stem, leaves and roots, especially one that is smaller than a tree or bush

ふむふむ、plantはともかく、stemとbushってなんだ？

１，stem
noun

the main long thin part of a plant above the ground from which the leaves or flower grow; a samller part that grows from this and supports flowers or leaves

a tall plant with branching stems

茎のことですね。

2、bush
noun

a plant that grows thickly with several hard stems coming up from the root
a rose bush
holly bushes

簡単だと思ったら、意外に難しいぞ。thickly several　を調べて説明文をなんとか理解したいものです。

「thickly」

in a way that produces a wide piece or deep layer of something
thickly sliced bread

厚いとか大きい、太い等の意味かな？severalを調べてみる。

「several」
more than two but not very many

２つ以上だけれどすごく多いわけでもない。ってことはいくつかって意味になるけど、someとかと比べるとどっちが多いのだろうか？まああんまり細かいこと気にするとハゲるからやめておこう。

bushの意味は大体イメージできたけど、日本語でなんていうのか分からない。。。毎度の事ながら英和さんに助けてもらいます。

1、低木、かん木、叢林

なんか日本語調べても、しっくりこないなあ（笑）ま、bushとバラをセットで覚えよう。そうすればbushが大体なんなのか想像つくし。
