Celebrating Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 its 10th Anniversary is one of the nation’s leader in sneaker purveyance – KICKS/HI located in Honolulu. Since 2001, KICKS/HI has been well recognized by major brands of all types, including Nike, Reebok, Stussy, and New Era, and this upcoming release of the KICKS/HI x Nike Chuck Taylor Free Run is actually the third overall partnership between the two names. KICKS/HI co-founder Eddy Haus has stated that for this project, Kicks Hawaii has chosen to leave the Chuck Taylor silhouette intact (better to not mess with a classic, right?), but used its tiger shark mascot by featuring the appropriate camo print on the upper. These are set to drop this Saturday, October 22nd, at KICKS/HI in Honolulu and Guam, as well as St. Alfred in Chicago at a retail price of $70. Check out the additional images below and stick with Sneaker News for more Nike release info and updates.

Just under a year ago, Nike released a new Chuck Taylor variant tha applied the ridged sole and upper construction including quadruple-stitching that you’d find on the traditional duck boot design. Its lowtop vamp wasn’t really intended to keep the harsh elements away from your feet, but just like this new pack, that can be just fine when the One Star continues to hit the aesthetic mark so precisely. The Nike Chuck Taylor Free Run Hi ‘D-Boots’ are instantly recognizeable, again, thanks to the heavy-duty stitching that connects the upper and mudguard, but this trio’s reliance upon suede for that bottom layer ensures that these’ll remain indoors on the rainiest days. These hit the UNDFTD Chapter Stores in August but their ‘un-Halloween’ look means recent shipments arriving at select Nike retailers are well-timed. When it comes to Nike collaborations, John Varvatos is indeed a star player, but that doesn’t mean all of his releases should come on the silhouette with that name. In fact, if there were a One Star silo Varvatos is most strongly associated with, it’d have to be the Nike Chuck Taylor Free Run hightop he’s done in so many different variations. This latest is done in the same snakeskin leather we saw on a pair of Star Player EVs last week, the higher cut only serving to make them more eye-catching. You’ll see more images after the jump and then look for yours at the Nike e-store.

They started hitting retailers earlier this month, but the fact that last year’s pairs have doubled in price on eBay means that word of the Missoni x Nike Chuck Taylor Free Runs hitting additional storefronts is significant news. This whole thing started when the initial Missoni Chuck Taylors made the rounds on the Air Max 87 Womens high fashion blogosphere last spring, and following a couple rounds of sellouts, a recent teamup with Target sent the masses’ lust for the Italian brand’s signature weaves to an all-time high. The ‘Space Dyed’ and ‘Zig Zag’ editions are now available at Berkeley, California’s Bows & Arrows, but that’s sure to be only temporary so act fast to get yours now.

The Japanese-exclusive Nike Addict line has been applying super-premium construction to the beloved Chuck Taylor silhouette for a couple years now, this new trio sharing the line’s established combination of subtle styling with visually obvious quality. The latest collaboration with Nike is noteworthy not just for the special guest design, but for the fact that it brings together two icons from a simpler time who’d never before crossed paths. The Dr. Romanelli x Nike ‘Beetle Bailey vs. Popeye’ collection brings together these two beloved comic strip characters with a pair of Chuck Taylor Free Runs that imagine the two as representatives in the Army vs. Navy rivalry. Check out the Beetle Bailey Bosey Chucks and the Nike Free Run 5.0 V2 Popeyes with the pristine white soles setting off their navy blue woolen uppers in more images after the jump and stick with Sneaker News for the US release date.

The Nike Air Max Purcell already had a signature design element with its instantly recognizeable toe ‘smile’, but a new variation released just over a year ago has become quite popular with its own obvious ‘extra’. The Air Max Purcell Johnny is at the peak of its powers in this superb new tweed edition that proves a purple and yellow weave can echo a sophisticated traditional style just as easily as the LA Lakers’ uniforms. These go a step deeper into the dressy realm thanks to the Johnny’s ‘seatbelts’ being cast in a rich mahogany leather, and it’s hard to imagine a shoe better fitting a white sole than this dark yet warm upper. If you look back on 2011 Air Max 2012 Men Shoes remembering that you bought a sneaker collaboration designed by mastermind JAPAN, you know it was black, and it featured an ‘extra’ zipper. A couple weeks after we got a look at their checkerboard-lined, heel-zipped Vans Sk8-His, the mastermind x Nike Air Max Purcell Hi Zip is brought to market and reminds us it was first on the scene back in October. They’ve got the brand’s trademark skull and crossbones on the heels with a paradoxical ‘LOVE & PEACE’ message atop the Purcell’s toe ‘smile’ that seems to fit the simplest of all high-contrast colorways. Click through so you can see all the details on these and hit up your overseas connects to get your hands on these through mastermind’s Nike Free Run 5.0 V3 ZOZO store.

A new month coming up means a new set of footwear releases from Nike Skateboarding, and perhaps in acknowledgement of the shortest month of the year, CONS is stripping away a bit of the extra detailing on one of their staples. The CONS Sea Star LS Ox strips out the traditional deck shoe-style heel lace and instead keeps the docksider sprit in its silhouette, much the way the vast majority of Zoom Stefan Janoskis have flown off Nike SB store shelves. Blue and white editions join new Trapasso Ox and CTS Ox lowtops in grey suedes, while a black CTS LS Ox shows off a slight variation on the immortal Chuck Taylor lowtop’s lines. We already know that President Obama is on board with the Jumpman, but does the First Lady rock heat as well? Apparently more prone to lifestyle sneakers, Michelle Obama was recently spotted on-air with Ellen Degeneres rocking the CLOT x Nike Chuck Taylor ‘Handshake’. The Nike Chuck Taylor is obviously a very popular sneaker, so normally this wouldn’t be notable, but the fact that she showed up on the set with a collabo pair from one of Asia’s biggest footwear forces certainly hints at some deeper knowledge of the game, or at least a good stylist. Are Barack and Michelle Obama America’s first presidential sneakerhead couple? Is Joe Biden getting a pair of Nike Air Yeezy’s 2 before they drop? The last Super Mario-inspired kicks we showcased here on Sneaker News was a duo of custom Air Force 1 Lows, but let’s not forget that there is indeed a branch of Nike, Inc. working on an official collaboration with Nintendo. The Super Mario Bros. x Nike One Star Ox sees its Air Max 87 Womens signature element embellished with the kind of beady eyes that make you invincible, black and white pairs offering running and jumping 8-bit Marios on their respective heels. Is it possible we might see a similar design issued for brother Luigi, or maybe even the evil Wario? We wouldn’t be shocked to see more as we approach the early March release of Mario Party 9, so click through to see more of Nike Free Run 4.0 V2 these and stick with Sneaker News for updates including word on whether these will ever hit US retailers. via HS
