and ask me ANYTHING!!

This is nothing like your English textbooks.

Because NO American expects you to say "I'm fine, thank you" back when they say "How are you".

They don't say "I'm angry"', either.

They say "I'm pissed".

So what's the point of leaning English from textbooks except for English tests at school?

So DO NOT FREAK when you find it's not the English you learn from textbooks.

I know I haven't been writting anything about movies recently...you know, new job, new relationship, new everything that I have been very  much overwhelmed. It's a sunny sunday and I decided to watch again one of my long time favorite, The Godfather.

Yes, I know there are Part II and Part III.. But I am a big fan of Marlon Brando. So the first one is always my favorite among all three. I am not saying Al Pacino as the Godfather is bad.. In fact, he is really really good.. But I guess I just have a thing for that old man.

The story, as many of you know, is about the Corleone Family, an Italian Mafia of New York. Old Don Vito Corleone was the first generation of the Godfather. His family did all kinds of illegal stuffs, but he, as the leader of the community, is well respected by the owners of small businesses. They reached out for helps from him and called him "Godfather". He treats them as friends and families and protect them from injustice. Despite all the illegal things Don Corleone has done in his life, he refused to deal drugs. He turned down a very lucrative offer by Sollozzo, AKA "The Turk", the big boss of a drug cartel. And his stance somehow exacerbated the Corleone Family's relationship with other big Mafia families. Don Corleone was shot in the public. Tom Hagen, the consultant/lawyer, was kidnapped. The Godfather's oldest son, Santino, was very angry but lack of wisdom to pull off a revenge. The only hope lied in the youngest son, Michael, who joined the army and wanted nothing to do with the Family business. After years of reclusiveness, plotting and finally revenge, Michael became the second generation of Don Corleone, the Godfather.

A little bit about the director of the triology, Francis Ford Coppola: the Godfather series endowed him an unreplacable fame in the Hollywood movie history. He is also famous for directing "Apocalypse Now", a movie under the historical background of the Vietnam War, another movie that you can't miss.

Despite Marlon Brando's awesome performance as a respectful leader of a community, Al Pacino, casted the youngest son Michael, is the main character of the whole triology. As always, he's pulling the extra miles in whatever he is asked to play, no matter it was a blind general in the "Scent of Women", or the sweaty robber in "Dog Day Afternoon", or the revenging leader of a Mafia.

All I can say about the movie, or the triology, is that, "buckle up, guys. it will rock your world."
