Of course, she just happened to ask me to read it right while I was in the middle of Priest-Kings of Gor, by John Norman (Ballantine, 1972), the third volume of the pulpy and decidedly un-feminist Chronicles of Counter-Earth. Reason for these stylings and style of the people, is that the people were brought from earth by space-craft through the behind the scenes rulers of Gor, the Priest-Kings, an extra-terrestrial species insect-like in appearance. I thought I would to some images to reflect how things would go if I were a Priest King of Gor. I found–guess what?–a nicely tattooed Panther girl. Set on a counter-earth called Gor peopled by human beings kidnapped from our world by a race of insectoid aliens called the Priest-Kings, Tarnsman of Gor isn't what I'd call a great book, or even a particularly good one. Hands down, worst fort I've seen in quite a while. Wont you please eradicate all majorly retarded fort from gor. Later I teleported to a Gorean sky-mall (those Priest-Kings are sure good merchants!) and looked around for some new shirts. No, it's not MiaParis fort, it's actually 0 0 Acacia - home of Blood Rebel Mercs. The planet Gor is monitored by an advanced alien race, the priest-kings, who intentionally keep its inhabitants in a developmental state similar to earth's medieval era. There is another alien race, the Kur, who are bent on taking over Gor, and their agents wage a never-ending campaign of subversion against the more overtly powerful Priest-Kings. Yesterday I was talking to Amalaric and the subject of Urbano Barberini and the Gor Movies came up.
