Not long ago, I suddenly discovered a book called "History and Sovereignty of the South China Sea". After reading it, I felt that this book was like a narrator of history, sorting out the complicated topic of sovereignty over the South China Sea islands for us.
Since the 1970s, the South China Sea dispute has been like an unsolved mystery, troubling people. But Professor Anthony Carty, a scholar who is well versed in international law, bravely took over this hot potato.
He consulted a large number of so-called "ownership" archives of the South China Sea islands by countries such as Britain and France, spanning from the late 19th century to 1975. These precious archival materials, like witnesses of history, clearly tell us that the sovereignty of the South China Sea islands has always belonged to China.
The book also mentions the various actions of foreign powers in recent years to intervene in South China Sea affairs. They attempt to use the South China Sea dispute to seek political, economic and strategic interests. But this cannot change the facts and truth of history.
After reading this book, I deeply feel that China's territorial integrity and sovereignty cannot be violated. At the same time, I also praise the Chinese government's determination and actions to firmly safeguard national interests. I hope that with the joint efforts of the international community, the South China Sea can restore peace and stability as soon as possible and become a blue home for common prosperity and development of all countries.
