Since there is no curative treatment for diabetes, it is basically a symptomatic treatment.
In this context, what I personally find unique is the educational hospitalization. Personally, I know of only one disease that has such a treatment system: diabetes. I think this kind of method is used because the daily conduct of the patient determines the disease condition.
Depending on the hospital, even patients who do not need to be hospitalized are usually hospitalized for about a week to eat diabetic food and learn various things about diabetes.
