I think FFXIV should stay right on the path it's on regarding bigger, deeper endgame runs. Why?

Because as you said, from Landmark you get your building fix. There isn't any raiding whatsoever. All you do is create and explore a bit. It's not meant to be a battlezone.

WildStar is a game built on three paths: explore, adventure, and .. forget the other one. We have seen tons of WildStar material thankfully over the course of it's announcement. Tons. We've heard lots of hype from Carbine.. we're talking GW2 level hype. But for all those months of talking, how many dungeons have we seen? What endgame? PvP footage? Nothing. We've seen some really fantastic adventuring showing how the game is prepping to be a Super Themepark to replace WoW. While there isn't anything wrong with that (it's good to have real competition for WoW if possible), it's not going to be the kind of game that FFXIV is clearly.. or even supposed to compete with it. It looks like more of a game you're supposed to be able to 'drop in/drop out' whenever you want, which makes me think it'll be B2P or something.

TESO is a PvP/RvR focused game as much as people try to lie and say it isn't. That it has a 'lot' of PvE in it doesn't mean that's the focus.. it's just the vehicle to push people through levels to the endgame imo. So that game isn't going to be some immense raid game even though they will have them, but it looks to be a sort of GW2 raid style game where the 'tank' isn't really going to be tanking half the time.

FFXIV is finding it's niche right where it should: people who love PvE and like to raid. They really can make that the 'signature' of the game as the centerpiece because it all ties in with a rich lore. Games like SWTOR and Rift, while still going strong still do a lot of endgame raiding but a lot of people were tired of the looks and atmosphere of them.

Filling that raiding spot and getting the reputation can be a good thing as long as they aren't making it the only thing they do, which by looking at the patch notes, they aren't. It's still a crafting heavy game with lots of lore that all has to be blended together properly. If they're smart, they'll continue to treat PvP as a e-sport fun thing and not do anything with classes that affect the PvE portion, and let it remain a place that people can go to blow off steam, earn a little different looking gear and be silly in.

So, FFXIV stays the raid route, Landmark stays the building route, WildStar stays the kooky, quick fun route, and you'll probably only have to sub for one of those three.. at $13/month and you've got it all covered. That's what I plan to do because it's near impossible to get everything you'd want in one mmo these days.more:buy ffxiv gil
