Dear World Rainbow Families,
Thank you for a wonderful two years in Japan! This has been an exciting experience that I am sure I’ll never forget. It was an honor to teach your children and be a part of their lives. The students at World Rainbow have always been kind and respectful, and always full of positive energy that made teaching fun. From Little to Adult Classes, I have seen motivated students make progress in leaps and bounds, and I can say with conviction that World Rainbow students have bright futures ahead of them. I hope they will continue to enjoy learning English, and gain the necessary confidence to apply it in the outside world.
Upon arriving in Japan, I have worked with World Rainbow to apply the foundation for a Drama-based English Language Education program. I am proud to say that we have seen many successes over the past two years. Students of all ages have learned English through performance activities and have worked hard to become better speakers by bringing the characters of classic folktales and student written plays to life. I have really noticed a change in student’s ability to communicate clearly and naturally using the English language, and can attribute this to the constant practice they get from working together in scenes and plays. We at World Rainbow have tried our best to connect the curriculum in both Speaking and Reading and Writing classes. Due to this change, we have seen a real improvement in student’s listening and speaking skills, as well as levels of reading comprehension. Students have become determined learners and creative thinkers, with a real desire to work with others and do their best.
Thank you again for all of the kindness and support you have given me during my stay in Japan. I will always have fond memories of watching parents and children perform scenes in English together at our monthly Open Class, seeing the happiness on student’s faces during the unique opportunity to perform plays for the community and, of course, witnessing the speedy progress and refreshing enthusiasm of our Adult learners on Saturday mornings. I am grateful for the chance, although much too brief, to have become a part of your community, and I will return to America with many wonderful things to say about Japan and Japanese people. Please come to America one day!
Keep up the good work! You can do it!
Best,
Adam Nicolai
