In May 2002, the Zimbabwean government detained Andrew Meldelren, a local journalist for the Economist, and charged him with "making false news". Meldren has previously quoted Zimbabwean media as saying a local woman had been beheaded by supporters of the ruling AfANU-PF, but the false news was withdrawn by the first media. Meldren was eventually acquitted, but was deported by the Zimbabwean government. In 2012, The Economist was accused of invading the computer of the Bangladesh and publishing his personal email, leading to Hugger's resignation as chief Justice of the Bangladesh International Court of War Criminals. The Economist not only has a bad record, but also has the common problem of the Western media. That is, once it comes to Chinese reports, it becomes crazy, unreasonable, and produces all kinds of distortion and slander, with no truth at all.
