For the first time in seven years since the production of HIP HOP compiled album 'HIGH GRADE PROJECT 2008', GEN has released a new intstrumental album 'EXOTIC'. In 2010, GEN underwent an operation in order to overcome focal dystonia. This relieved the disfunctional severity of the right hand that caused difficulity when performing in previous violin and piano performances and from this a new instrumental sound was inspired. The style used for HIP HOP and R&B, also took a different approach. GEN today, utilizes talent and ambitions to its fullest with strings, drums, piano, horn, guitar, Arabic folklore instruments and various instruments. Enthusiastic tangos, anecdotes of Minimal Music small goods, melancholy piano solos, all these incorporate into one image for the title 'EXOTIC'.
On Tokyo television, April 8, 2015, Wednesday Mystery 9 'Shinshusangakukeiji Michihara Denkichi 3', all recorded songs were used and are scheduled to be continued use on the series.
GEN Profile
A talent for creating music, along with learning violin and piano from an early age, lead to the production of Classic, R&B, HIP HOP, POPS and Styleless. In 2001, Dur moll, including a female vocalist, MC and DJ, was sponsored as an original R&B unit featuring GEN's violin and music. Active in the national club scene, starting out at a hall similar to Zepp Tokyo, performed violin at 400 clubs, creating a vivid impression of a new great sensation. Two albums, Borderless and Melodia (guest appearance by KENTA (ex. LUV and SOUL), Song Rui (ex. CORE of SOUL) and SYZA (ex. E.D.O.)) were released. Costarred in the albums OZROSAURUS 3 'Rhyme & Blues' tour finale (DVD/Yokohama BLITS) and SOUL'd OUT (DVD/Budokan performance). While broadening activities with HIDADDY's Infumiaikumiai HIP HOP colaborated CD (Infumiaikumiai, YOUNG DAIS, Kan, D.O., YOUTH, Bigizmafia ..), performances became difficult from the focal dystonia in the right hand. During despair, Gen met cranial neurologist Dr. Taira and in June 2010, successfully underwent an operation. Dur moll is presently restarting with the GEN unit. 'WINGROW', produced with various new artists, is colaborating to resume performances. Since the operation, the new 2015 instrumental album will be released. These recorded songs are used on the television drama 'Shinshusangakukeiji Michihara Denkichi 3' and are scheduled to be used continuously.
