Rumors that Microsoft Corp. (NASDAQ: MSFT) would brings its Office suite of applications to the Apple (NASDAQ: AAPL) iPad have circulated for several months, but on Tuesday, a top Microsoft executive sidestepped the question.
Reuters reports that Kurt DelBene, head of Microsoft’s Office unit, demurred when asked about Office on iPad during a Morgan Stanley technology investor conference.
Currently, iPad users can access Office through online versions, but those are not as rich as installed versions.
According
to Reuters, a Morgan Stanley analyst estimated that Microsoft could
generate $2.5 billion in additional annual revenue from Office on iPad.
