Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey was grilled Monday by city leaders about his policy on no-knock warrants at police stations. Just days earlier, a city police officer shot and killed a man during a raid, police said.
Frey stressed the responsibility to respect "the sanctity of life" as he answered dozens of questions Monday afternoon during a "Discussion on no-knock Policies" before the Minneapolis City Council's Policy and Government Oversight committee.
"That means the primary goal of any of these decisions is to protect life. It means the safety of the public, it means the safety of our officers, it means the safety of everyone." "We shouldn't have to get here because of one tragedy."
