Koei’s Dynasty Warriors series has long thrown massive waves of enemies at the gamer and yielded a certain level of button-mashing satisfaction, but in Ken’s Rage 2, it is completely mindless, and that’s not some tabloid-level exaggeration. Feel free to completely skip the tutorial, and heck, completely skip over studying your controls, too. Button-mashing will get you through most of the game. Boss battles do require a touch more nuance, but that’s mostly because they’ll deliver some annoyingly unblockable moves.All of this truly limits the appeal of Ken’s Rage 2, especially given that not-so-budget retail price of $59.99. There’s actually a love letter to manga fans buried in here, with a few extra playable characters delivering some new stories, but it’s simply too expensive of a love letter.
