February life update

Dear diary,

It's been a while. Nothing big, really. Plenty of small things instead.

You Liang got a job at Line. Good, challenging work. He has to survive a probation to be employed. Hope he gets it.

Angela came for an interview at my company. I am seated nearest to the door, so I could see her. She hasn't heard back so far. Really hope she makes it to round 2.

Brotherhood... Seems to be half dead. Gatherings less and less frequent.

Leo is back. We didn't play any Monster Hunter World together in the end.

Weijian is growing his YouTube career. Got 1000 subscribers recently.

Matt is same old same old. Don't have his feet planted firmly on the ground.

Colleagues are good as always. Got closer with many people within my team. I haven't been eating lunch with them much lately.

There's BK, who I got close with thanks to our love for nogizaka.

There's Alvin, who I'm close with thanks to our love for music. He's also my team mate in the new game we're working on.

There's Aiko, who sits besides me. We get along well generally.

There's Valerie, who is my senior from SCSE, NTU. I wore her academic dress in my convocation. We like Nintendo games.

There's Jiale, who shares my love for Nier, Witcher, and Dragon Age. I thanked her for introducing Dragon Age to me.

There's Sarah... We used to be closer. Don't talk anymore though.

Family... Same old shit.

My two nieces are growing up well. A few more years and we can have intelligent conversations.

As for me...

I'm not so good lately. Narcolepsy got even worse. Trying caffeine starting this week.

Fell sick too. Someone gave it to me. I'm wearing a mask, as a socially responsible person.

Sold my PS4 to Joel. It has a special place in my heart. It accompanied me and comforted me after the breakup. But if it can make someone happy instead of sitting at a corner of my room, I would gladly let it go, as I did.

Financial goals

I have been saving up nicely. I didn't hit my goal for 2017 actually, since I stopped teaching tuition, and bought a few expensive items. But I still saved plenty. It's actually enough money to last me 5 years without working.

Just a few more years of doing this, and I will be able to retire.

Since I need to buy a house I might need an additional 5 years or so.

I just watched the new year countdown fireworks at Marina Bay Sands, and I remembered the fireworks I watched with you two years ago. I remember that day so clearly. Thank you for the memories.

Christmas Eve

I went to watch a movie with Angela on Christmas Eve.

It was Pitch Perfect 3, which is the third movie of a series I have never seen before. Plus it's the kind of movie I would never watch on my own. The singing were really nice. It was very badly received though.

After that I tagged along on her shopping in Plaza Singapura, and then we walked to Don Don Donki. We shared a matcha ice cream together.

After that we went Fort Canning Park to kill some time. Chatted a lot.

Lastly we went to orchard to see the illuminations, but there were so many people that I got sick of it real quickly. We had taiyaki at takashimaya and went home after that.

The girl was really cute that day. She even braided her hair. Must have taken a lot of time to do so. She dressed and looked very much like a Japanese girl. Many guys would probably wish to have a girlfriend that looks as cute as her.

She wrote me a new year card. Said she was really glad to have met me. It was a pretty sweet card with a hand drawn shibainu on the front.

Hope she can get into KTS. Very difficult, but I can see she's trying pretty hard now. We will be able to spend a lot of time together if she somehow manages to.
