ヤンゴンのお土産事情、その3。これまた日本人が立ち上げた「dacco.」というお店があります。日本人が好みそうな雑貨がたくさん売っていて、これまた帰国前にお世話になってます。
さて、今日はこの曲。1983年はこの曲で締めくくりたいと思います。The Blue Eyed Soul。
「Daryl Hall & John Oates / Say It Isn’t So」
この曲はBillboard誌で1983年12月から翌年1月にかけて4週間、最高2位を記録しました。彼らのベストアルバム「Rock ’n Soul Part 1」（邦題：フロム A to ワン）からのシングルカットです。アルバムタイトルが絶妙。彼ら、本当にRockとSoulを演ってるんすよね
で、中三坊はとてもウブでまじめなので、「で、いつPart 2が出んのさ？？」と待ち続け、すでに33年が経過。未だPart 2は出てませぬ・・・
個人的にはH&Oらしさを感じる最後の曲かなぁ。この曲聴いて、すぐにAlbum買いましたー
。で、この曲が好きで好きで、当時流行ってた12inchシングルも購入。
12inchシングルって言葉、今はあまり聞かないけど、当時は曲をリミックスして、いろんなバージョン作ってAlbumと同じサイズのシングル盤を出してたんです。1枚1,500円ぐらい。いろんなの持ってたなぁ・・・
PVは恐らくこの12inchバージョンの曲だったと思います。New Yorkで撮影されたもので、川とManhattan (?)をバックにバンドで演奏してます。この時のHallが一番かっこいいかも。あー、本当にHall & Oatesっていい・・・
歩き続けるようなリズム、まぁ、聴いてみてくださいな。

Myanmar souvenir market scene Pt.3. There is a souvenir shop which an owner is Japanese and it named “dacco.”. This shop has a lot of stuff which Japanese may like. When I temporary return to Japan, I always get some souvenirs at this shop.
Well, today’s song is this. This is the last song for 1983. It's blue eyed soul.

This song got 4 weeks No.2 on Billboard Magazine from Dec 1983 to Jan 1984. This was new song from their best hits album “Rock ’n Soul Part 1”. This title was good expression for their music, attitude and style. They played real Rock and Soul.
At this time, I was 15 years old boy, I was young. So I really believed Rock n’ Soul Part 2 would come soon. How ever already 33 years past since Part 1.
Just my opinion, this song is the last one which makes me feel Hall & Oates song. I really really loved this song, therefore I rushed to a record shop soon after this song was released. Also I got 12 inch single record which included remix version.
Video was shot in New York. They played this song with back against Manhattan. I think this Daryl was coolest in his carrier.
Beat out a rhythm as step, try this song.
