こんばんわ。ヤンゴン在中・つっちゃんです。
ヤンゴンには鉄道が走っています。電車ではなく鉄道。ゆっくりゆっくり走るのですが、それでも縦横に激しく揺れます。鉄道って意外と脱線しないもんなんすね。
さて今日の曲はこれ。ニューでロマンティックなやつです。
「The Human League / Don’t You Want Me」
1982年10月に3週にわたってBIlboard誌でNo.1になりました。シンセサイザーを効果的に使ったピコピコロックですが、とてもキャッチー。曲のタイトルをリフレインするサビの部分は中坊の私でも歌えてました（笑）
先日British Invasionに少し触れましたが、彼らもそれを代表するArtistの1つです。それらArtistの特徴はUnisexなルックス、シンセサイザーの多用などがあるのですが、ニューロマンティック系などと呼ばれてました。Duran DuranやSpandau Balletなどがその筆頭ですかね。彼らについてはまた別途ご紹介します。
Human Leagueはデビュー後、すぐに2つに分裂、Heaven 17ってバンドとこの新生Human Leagueとに分かれました。新生Human Leagueはニューロマンティックに漏れず、メインのUnisex男性Voと、2名の綺麗な女性 Backing Voが主役でした。他にもメンバーいましたが、その他大勢でよく覚えとらんです。
AlbumのジャケットもVogue誌を模していてナルシズム全開です。
ピコピコ感たっぷりですが、まぁ、聴いてみてくださいな。

This song got No.1 of Billboard magazine during 3 weeks of October 1982. They used the synthesizer effectively. I could sing the main part of this song because it was very easy to understand although I was 14 years old.
They are typical rock band of 2nd British Invasion. Unisex looks and effective synthesizer. It was called New Romantic Artists. Duran Duran and Spandau Ballet is also same.
This band splited into 2 bands. One was Heaven 17, and another one is The Human League. Main vocalist is male who looks unisex, and two lady were backing vocalists.
Album jacket got also new romantic impact. It was similar to Vogue Magazine.
Synthesizer sound, try this song.
