こんばんわ。ヤンゴン在中・つっちゃんです。
ヤンゴンで住んでいる部屋のすぐ近くにヤンゴン川が流れています。大きな川で、大きな貨物船がよく行き来しています。が、いかんせん水が濁ってます。おそらく土のせいなのかなぁ・・・。
さて、今日はこの曲でいきましょう。雰囲気のあるしっとりした曲です。
「The Alan Parsons Project / Eye In The Sky」
当時の Videoがないっ！ 彼ら、当時はライブを一切しない、PVにも本人たちが登場しないという徹底ぶりでした。この曲に関してはPVが作成されなかったのかな・・・。
中坊の時に聞いた噂では、VoのEric Woolfsonの頭が薄いから人前に出ないんだ、という話を聞きました（真偽ののほどは定かじゃないっす）。ちなみに上記の右がAlan Parsons、左がEric Woolfsonです。Videoを残して欲しかった・・・。
この曲は1982年10月、Billboard誌で最高3位を3週間キープしました。元々はプログレバンドみたいなんだけど、私の馴染みのある曲はとてもしっとりした味・雰囲気のある良質なポップソングでした。
これはその馴染みのあるうちの1曲。なんとなく夜を感じさせるしっとりとした曲です。なめらかな曲調、音の綺麗さ、バンドメンバーは前述の2人のみで他メンバーは常にセッションミュージシャンを使ってた、などを見ると、どうしてもSteely Danを連想させます。
しっとりと夜を感じ見たい方、まぁ、聴いてみてくださいな。

I can not find any their videos in 1982!! In that time, they never play live concert and never appear on a promotion video. I heard a rumor. They didn’t appear because Eric Woolfson who is vocalist had no hair…. (I’m not sure if it’s true or not. It’s just a rumor…)
This song kept No.3 on Billboard magazine during 3 weeks of October 1982. They were Progressive Rock Band, however my favorite songs had atmospheric and it was good pop song.
This song is one of these songs. I can feel silent night scene from this song.
Their song’s melody, clear sound and to use studio musician, they make me imagine Steely Dan.
