ミャンマーの通貨単位は Kyat（チャット）といいます。1円＝10Kyatですが、ドルからKyatに交換するのが一般的です（それ以外見たことない）。交換する際、ドルのピン札と使用感ありのお札、また$100/$50/…で変換レートが違うのがおもしろいです。
さて今日の曲はこれ。曲の出だしが印象的です。
Billboard誌で1982年10月に4週連続でNo.1になりました。Album Jacketの写真のせいか、当時「どこの田舎者だ？」と思ってましたが、彼、とてもいいです。
私の勝手なイメージですが、広いアメリカ、どこまでも続く畑を思い起こさせます。
80年代前半はシンセ導入でチャカチャカした曲が多く、また第2次British Invasionと言われたイギリスから来たメイクばっちりのビジュアル系が多くのヒットを出していました（それはそれで大好き）。そんな中、ストレートなロックをかましてくれた、アメリカンロックを象徴する一人だと思います。大好き。
ちなみにCougarは芸名らしいです。83年にJohn Cougar Mellencampに変更、その後80年代はその名で通し、90年代になって本名のJohn Mellencampに変わっています。出世魚のようですな。
その素朴なアメリカンロック、まぁ、聴いてみてくださいな。

80’s. synthesizer became popular in pop music scene, and 2nd British Invasion landed on America. We could see unisex artists in that time. However John Cougar gave us strait American rock.
Cougar is not real name. He changed his name to John Cougar Mellencamp in 1983, then changed to John Mellencamp, his real name, in 1991.
