Academic writing

Today I learned some tips of academic writing.
We should pay attention in these points below.

1.    Avoid abbreviations (contraction)
2.    Avoid I or You as subject
3.    Use academic words

In addition, I told not to use And or So in the head of the sentence by professional, when I prepared a personal statement. In such situations, we should use “In addition” or “Moreover”, “Therefore” or “Hence” instead of those words.
