But if we grading throws, he made some impressive ones after a shaky start. The touch pass to Kyle Rudolph down the sideline, a 16yarder to a tiptoeing Michael Jenkins and a few intermediate darts to Devin Aromashodu were among his best. Was active in the passing game with 13 tackles and two pass deflections. Linebacker Erin Henderson seems to be at his best when he can use his athleticism in space. He had a convincing performance, finishing with 10 tackles and a sack.
Overall, I thought the Oline was pretty steady. The pocket collapsed on Ponder (two sacks) a few times but for the most part he had time to throw. Adrian Peterson had runs of 9, 8, 19, 10 and 20 to the middle or right side. And Phil Loadholt didn have a false start, which is always good.
For all Adrian Peterson ability, hard to say his talent transcends losing. Last year Vikings were 28 in games he finished, 15 without him. Maybe it the limitations of the running back position. Two of the game Peterson and Maurice JonesDrew, went a combined 824 last season.
But it worth noting Peterson who to roll vs the Jaguars plans to watch his team pile up wins even if he not wearing pads.
Can the Vikings win consistently without him?
