Sekai wo kakumei suru tame ni!!
Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow~♪
Continuing from where I left off in the last post...
We had lunch, got on the bus and off we went to the airport! ヾ(@°▽°@)ノ If only we knew what was to come..
Our flight was at 5.10pm and everything was alright, we even bought some yummy Panna Cotta while waiting in the boarding area (Pics to come!)
It was snowing pretty heavily so they delayed the flight by half an hour. But they still boarded us, and by then the snow had to be at least 2 inches? (^^ゞ
So we boarded, but couldn't take off as planned cause of the snow. We sat in that plane for more than TWO.BLOODY.HOURS. And in the end they said that they couldn't take off in that condition and sent us back to the terminal.
Well, whaddya know.. they CANCELLED the flight!! \(*`∧´)/ asdfghjkjhgfdsasdfghjk
And, not just ours, but basically the whole airport was effectively shut down.
Soooo... we had to go out and re-book our flight for the next day. We went to queue.
Guess what?
Only ONE counter was open. And EVERY.FRICKIN.FLIGHT was cancelled.
Can you imagine the number of people? (・∀・)
No? Well, let me give you an idea

Guess how long we stood in line? ( ゚ ▽ ゚ ;) 3 HOURS!! ( ̄□ ̄;)
And we still weren't anywhere close. Also, people who were behind us earlier was now waaay in front.
I wonder why... ( ̄へ ̄ 凸
Luckily, they had opened some new counters and some of us waited in line while the rest went to queue at the new counters.
FINALLY! We changed our flight, the next day to Bristol at 10am. (‐^▽^‐)
BUT!
Because of the snowstorm there was no buses/taxis running AT ALL. And, because by the time we managed to change our flight it was already 1am, we decided to just camp in the airport.
Oh mai..
A scene from the airport:
It was like this everywhere, I even saw people bunking down in the toilets where it was warm. (Don't worry, they were on tables and lucky for them it didn't stink)
Mai mai.. this is one experience I'll never forget.
And to think we used to gawk at those rows of sleeping people in the Dubai airport.
When you think about it, at least they had nice soft carpets.
We had a hard, freezing linoleum floor and the area stank of cigarette smoke. (We were near the exits)
Around maybe 5am the airport staff came back to work and started giving out those military-ish blankets. Well, thanks a lot guys. Why not wait until we've turned into icicles before arriving? ((o(-゛-;)
We were supposed to check in at 8am so we were checking every now and again.
Around 7-ish (I think) they updated the flight status. Guess what? ^___________________________________^

Milan ~City of Designer Labels and Good Food~
Happy New Year everyone!! o(〃^▽^〃)o
Long overdue post about Milan, heh. Still waiting on some pics, that'll hafta wait for part 2 then =3
*NOTE*: I was gonna do them day by day originally, but since all the pics are jumbled up, oh well.
*cracks knuckles* Here we go

*:..。o○☆゚・:,。*:..。o○☆゚・*:.。..。.:*・゚゚・*:.。..。.:*・゚ *:..。o○☆゚・:,。*:..。o○☆
Okay, obligatory sightseeing pics,
Duomo Cathedral
Awesome architecture here, the whole thing is carved out of marble. (ノ゚ο゚)ノ
Piano steps, it made sounds whenever ppl stepped on it. This was cute, but ofc, don't expect the 5th Symphony from this. =p
Plaza Vittorio Emmanuele II
Not much inside actually, there's a Prada, Gucci, LV and a couple more shops inside but not exactly the main ones. I like the structure is all. (-^□^-)
Random snowy park.
Who knew Milan snowed so much? (* ̄Oノ ̄*)
Srsly, I thought I was in Russia for a while there.
☆*゚ ゜゚*☆*゚ ゜゚*゚・:,。゚・:,。★゚・:,。゚・:,。☆
And now, on to the FOOD!!
~2nd Day~
LUNCH
It's sorta like beef patty, with cheese and spinach wrapped in ham in the center. A little dry, but it was ok.
Grilled Chicken with spinach (Italians really love their spinacchi eh? (^▽^;) )
Had a bite of this, it was good, not as dry as it may look.
DINNER
For some reason, Milan seems to be devoid of restaurants... seriously. We took almost an hour just to look for an affordable place. It's either all dessert cafes or gelato shops. ( ̄_ ̄ i)
So, because we were starving, freezing and tired, we decided to just go back to our hotel and ask reception for a place to eat again. (The night before we had asked him and he recommended this great place. Pics en route =3) The day before it was, 'Take the 2nd left'. Tonite he said, "First left" So on we went!
Dinner's served:
My order - Tagliata Pepe Verde (Beef strips with pepper.. sauce?)
Mmm.. gawd I can't live without beef
It was so juicy and tender with just the right amount of chewiness. And the pepper wasn't overpowering.
Too bad the portion was small. (;^_^A
Filetto blablabla (Hey, my brain doesnt retain words I don't understand xD)
In short, fillet mignon (I suppose?) This pic isn't obvious but, it was one HUGE piece of steak.

A bit rare for me, but my friend who ordered this is a guy so... xD And it only cost what, 15 euros?
I don't remember what it was called but, it's pasta with meat.
Oh mai, wasn't that descriptive xD All you need to know is that it was goooood.
Aaaannndd... DESSERT!!
Pancake with caramel filling and glazed cinammon.
They call it pancake, but I'd call it a crepe (^~^)
And this is how they prepared it xD
Moe? ( ̄▽+ ̄*)
~3rd Day~
Dinner
Tonite, not the 3rd left, but the 1st right! ( ̄▽+ ̄*) Ahh.. gotta love the receptionist guy. www
On a side note, this place is run by some Chinese people (IBC? (^ε^)), but there were still communication errors lol (When we started speaking Mandarin to them they were like O_o). They also seem to be highly amused by us Malaysians ( ̄っ ̄) Is it so wrong to converse in 4 different languages/dialects at a time? ( ̄□ ̄;)!!
Mmm, after drooling over my friend's steak the previous night, we decided to order our own
Steak w/mushroom sauce.
Mmm.. I LOVE steak. raburaburaburabu
Who knew Italian steaks were so good?
Seafood linguini.
It's so.frickin.fresh!! Oh mai.. and they don't stinge on the seafood too.
Pasta here is really different from the ones back home. They're pretty minimalistic over here, especially on the sauce. Doesn't stop them from having tasty, delicious pasta though. (*゜▽゜ノノ゛☆
~4th Day~
What was supposed to be our last day. Little did we know....... 。・゚゚・(≧д≦)・゚゚・。
But that's for another post. For now, MOAR food!!
We went back to the restaurant on the '2nd left' for a quick lunch before heading to the airport.
Carbonara
Not as creamy as the ones you find back home. You can actually finish the whole thing without feeling 'zai'
(・∀・)
Linguini Vongole
Basically just clams lol. It's like olio based, so not much sauce. Mmm..
Oh, and I ordered a cappucino, just to try. For someone who doesn't drink coffee, I think Italian coffee is pretty good. o(^▽^)o Not too strong, not too milky/sweet.
Seafood tagliatelle.
Also, tomato based pasta in Italy is actually delicious. Normally I don't order any tomato-based pasta, but the ones here are goooood. (°∀°)b You can hardly tell it's there. Doesn't kill the whole pasta, not like at home where they just pour in the sauce like they're feeding 10 people.
(TBC)
