As a self proclaimed Christmas elf, I was THRILLED to learn the Hallmark Channel released 33 new Christmas movies. However, I was taken aback after learning not ONE film had a LEADING Black cast. SMH.

The original "Black Christmas" directed by Bob Clark, was released in 1974, two years after Title IX, a federal civil rights law that protected women from sexual discrimination, went into effect, like it or not. That's because "Black Christmas" is politically unaware. Most incidents go unreported, as documented by a variety of studies, but the reason for a woman's silence differs from the Sophia Takal remake and "Black Christmas" as written by Roy Moore, a man.
A group of six sorority sisters - Kelli (Katie Cassidy) Dana (Lacey Chabert) Lauren (Crystal Lowe) Megan (Jessica Harmon) Heather (Mary Elizabeth Winstead) and Melissa (Michelle Trachtenberg) and their house mother (Andrea Martin) are settling in for Christmas Break. Silent Night, Girly Night- pretty dead on. It's really sad since the original was, for me, great. This lame and unnecessary remake isn't even mediocre; It's really bad. And it's very very preachy about it's agenda(which is literally the film) it's not even Black Christmas.
To be fair you shouldnt have a movie “made” for a certain demographic (example: young teens) or at the very least acknowledge that a movie is going to be seen and reviewed by different types of people.
