Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organisation:
To help manage the creation and planning of localised Strategy with Retail and manage and drive the process for implementation of the Strategic plans through to flawless execution.
To play a key role in identifying key compliance gaps with global COE retail functional strategic plans in the aJ retail business and creating action plans to address these gaps
To drive overall efficiencies within the business and be responsible for further business development
Key Responsibilities:
Strategy Management
To play a key role in the creation of local retail strategy and ensure alignment with the global COE retail strategy
To establish a standard project management approach and effective communication methodology to the management of the retail team for Strategic project implementation
highlight risks of potential project non-completion based on agreed timelines
liaise with the Retail intelligence team to measure and track the impact of the completed plans on the business vs target.
(NB Strategic Projects include Global initiatives & Local Strategic projects identified by the local SWOT analysis and projects to achieve our aJ Retail Vision)
To manage and assist the implementation of global & local strategic initiatives from the initial planning through to flawless execution.
Business Development
To identify, using SWOT techniques, the key areas for driving efficiencies within the business and the key areas for potential business gains and create plans to address the opportunities and risks.
To own key business development projects from concept through to execution – Current projects Full Price Store openings (to open opportunistically in 2014 – ideally 3 in 2014), Women’s Only Store openings (upto 3 in 2014) & the 10 OCS stores (to be opened by 2015)
Other responsibilities
To manage the Internal Communications facilitator whose primary role is to own the communication of all Key information to all Retail personnel with the aim of driving flawless planning and execution. (NB Communication flow is within the Retail Support Centre, between Retail Support Centre & stores and internally between Retail Support Centre and the other aJ divisions)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to work effectively within a team environment
Fluent in English and Japanese
Strong facilitation skills
Strong leadership skills
Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:
University degree, minimum 4 years of project management skills and Retail experience
