新型コロナウイルスのゲノムの特徴

　2019年12月に中国・武漢市で患者が報告され、その後、病原体として同定された新型コロナウイルス（2019-nCoV）について、中国疾病予防管理センターのRoujian Lu氏らがゲノム配列を調べた。

その結果、2019-nCoVはSARS-CoVとは異なり、ヒトに感染する新たなβコロナウイルスと考えられた。

系統解析では、コウモリがこのウイルスの最初の宿主である可能性が示唆されたが、武漢市の海鮮卸売市場で販売されている動物はヒトでのウイルス出現を促進する中間宿主である可能性が示された。

さらに構造解析から、2019-nCoVがヒトのアンジオテンシン変換酵素（ACE）2受容体に結合できる可能性が示唆された。

原著論文

　著者らは、入院患者9例（うち8例は海鮮卸売市場を訪れた症例）の気管支肺胞洗浄液サンプルと培養分離株の次世代シークエンシングを行った。これらの症例から全体および部分的な2019-nCoVゲノムシークエンスを取得し、2019-nCoVゲノムとほかのコロナウイルスの系統解析を用いてウイルスの進化について同定し、可能性のある起源を推定した。

　主な結果は以下のとおり。

・9例から得られた2019-nCoV の10のゲノム配列は非常に類似し、同一性は99.98％以上だった。

・2018年に中国東部の舟山で収集された2匹のコウモリ由来の重症急性呼吸器症候群（SARS）様コロナウイルス（bat-SL-CoVZC45、bat-SL-CoVZXC21）は、2019-nCoV と88％の同一性であった。しかし、SARS-CoV（約79％）およびMERS-CoV（約50％）とは同一性は低かった。

・系統解析により、2019-nCoVはβコロナウイルス属サルべコウイルス亜属に分類され、最も近縁のbat-SL-CoVZC45およびbat-SL-CoVZXC21より比較的長い分岐長を有し、SARS-CoVとは遺伝的に異なることが認められた。
・ホモロジーモデリングから、2019-nCoVはキーである残基におけるアミノ酸変化にもかかわらず、受容体結合ドメイン構造がSARS-CoVと似ていることがわかった。

医師は「学力偏差値」は高くても、「資産運用偏差値」は低い！？？？

という先輩医師は意外とおおいです。

開業医にしろ勤務医にしろ、やはりお医者さんは、根本的な能力が高く優秀な人が多いという印象があります。

しかし、金融面での知識となると、正直一般のサラリーマンよりもレベルが低いことが多い、というのが私の肌感覚です。

医師の皆さま、すみません（笑）

医師というのはその仕事のスタイルの特徴から、やや浮世離れしてしまうことは仕方がないことだとも思っています。

日常的に会話をするのは医師・看護師・患者・MR営業担当くらいのもので、資産の運用や投資について雑談するような機会は少ないのかもしれません。

日常的に会話の中で出てこないので、資産運用について考えることがない。

→運用や投資を考えることを後回しにしているうちに、ズルズルと資産だけが貯まっていき放置状態になる。

→時々、営業に来た証券会社の担当員の話を聞いて、適当に投資信託を買ってみたりするものの、結局そのまま数年間放置。

→何となく現金で保有してしまっている割合が高くなっており、「運用しないと何か勿体ない」という気持ちだけがぼんやりと存在している。そんな方を、よく見かけます。

このブログでは、そんなドクターの方々やドクターになる学生の方々に、改めて資産運用の重要性と実践を紹介する内容になっています。

具体的には、

「攻めの投資」と「守りの投資」を使い分けて、節税テクニックを合わせたものです。

仲の良い先輩ドクターが実践して、資産数十億円を達成した方法なのでご期待ください^^

PBL Hawaii Style Workshop October 22-25, 2019

Workshop Overview This 3.5 day workshop is designed to provide participants with instruction in the practical applications of problem-based learning (PBL) in the context of a medical school curriculum. Using examples from the University of Hawaii John A. Burns School of Medicine’s 25-plus years of experience with PBL, elements of small-group facilitation, case writing, and assessment/evaluation will be covered.  Instruction will be in English, and conversational English skills are required. Methods will include lectures, discussions, and small group exercises. Target Participants The workshop is open to faculty members from international medical schools that wish to learn more about the “Hawaii Style” model of PBL. The target audience will be those with minimal background in PBL. No prior knowledge of, or experience with, PBL is necessary. Summer Medical Education Institute August 19-23

Workshop Overview This workshop provides an exciting opportunity for international medical students to learn about American medical education.   Teaching methods include highly interactive problem-based learning (PBL), communication practice, simulated patient encounters and more!  In addition to the structured learning program, there will also be opportunities to interact with American medical students and faculty in a relaxed learning environment.  Target Participants  Medical students especially from the Asia-Pacific region from all grades are welcomed to participate.
