意外に思う人もいるかもしれませんが、折り紙飛行機の情報は、海外の方が結構多いんですよね。
なので、私は、国内海外を区別せずに、情報収集してます。
ちなみに私の英語力ですが、一応TOEICで790点取ったことあります。ただ、テクニック的なところで解いてるので、実際の会話だと正直全然聞き取れなかったり、うまく言いたいことが言えないことが多いです・・。
さて、話題を変えて、、、
「折り紙」作家でもあり、「折り紙飛行機」作家でもあるJayson MerrillさんのYOUTUBE動画。
まず、動画の説明欄に、「 This video shows how to fold the aircraft that won the Redbull Paperwings 2019 competition. I modified an old design and folded it for Jake Hardy who then threw it 56 meters (183 feet) setting a new Redbull Record. 」
と書いてますね。
Jake Hardyさんのために、私はこの機体を設計したと。そして、彼はRBPW2019で優勝したと。ほぉ～。
そのときの動画がこちらにありました。
で、再度、Jaysonさんの動画を見ると、まず冒頭に、決戦会場の環境の悪さみたいなのを語ってます。
で、それに対応させた機体の折り方を紹介しているのですが、2:36で、「RBPWで提供される紙はＡ4,100gsmである」って言っているように私には聞き取れました。
これ結構重要で、100gsmだとすると、普通の薄い80gsm以下のコピー用紙で滞空系を練習していると、本番で面食らう可能性ありだなと。
滞空系の大会出るなら、「重い紙」と「軽い紙」の場合での、飛びの違いは、知っておかないといけないなと思いました。

Red Bull PAPER WINGS 2022 の日本大会では「竹紙100ホワイト75g/m2」 という情報もありました。

Unfortunately, there is little information about origami airplanes in Japan. Therefore, I am collecting information from overseas.
According to a YouTube video by origami airplane artist Jayson Merrill, he designed the winning plane for RedBull Paper Wings 2019. In the video, he talked about the bad environment at the venue for the battle. He also said that the paper offered by RBPW is 100gsm.
This information is very important.
Paper weight affects flight. In order to win in the competition, I need to know the best airplane depending on the weight of the paper.
