１１月１２日、米財務省はフィラデルフィア造幣局で１セント硬貨の最後となる
５枚を鋳造し、米国での232年間に及ぶペニー（セントの別称）の生産の歴史が
閉じました。
貯金箱は「ペニーバンク」（Penny bank）と呼ばれ、子供たちに貯金の重要性を
教えていましたが、今後はどうなるのでしょう。
エルヴィスの歌にも「ペニー」は登場していましたね。
