ミネアポリスのディスコ・バンド、リップス・インクの'８０年リリースの見事な１発ヒット・シングル "Funkytown"（ファンキータウン）
このリップス・インクというバンドは、何人かのセッション・ミュージシャンを加えてレコーディングしていたそう。そうした事情と土地柄からか、プリンス・アンド・ザ・レボリューションのドラマーとして有名なボビー・Zの兄弟で、同じくプリンスとの仕事で知られるミュージシャン兼エンジニア兼プロデューサーのデイヴィッド・Zも、この曲に参加していた

ということで（関係ないけど）、ビートルズ（英ロックバンド 1960-1970）名曲のカヴァー・・・
英ロックバンド、元XTC（英ロックバンド 1976-2005）のボーカリスト兼ギタリスト兼ひねくれ者、アンディ・パートリッジ。 彼のソロ名義作品で ’０３年リリースのデモ＆レア音源をコンパイルしたシリーズ・アルバム第３弾 ”Fuzzy Warbles Volume 3”（ファジー・ウォーブル VOL．３）から、"Strawberry Fields Forever"（ストロベリー・フィールズ・フォーエバー）
ひねくれ者も偉大な作品の前には、素直になることもあるのだろうか。まんま演ってみましたという潔さ！そして、どこまでもそっくり！という凝り性が一体化した、興味深い１曲となっている

リードヴォーカルを除く全パートを担当しているのは同バンドのリードギタリスト、デイヴ・グレゴリーで彼の仕事だそう（XTC ファンのノエルかえるさんのコメント参照）。よく見るとウィキにもそう書いてある（笑）
