Following the magnitude 7.1 earthquake—registering a seismic intensity of 7—that struck Uki City and Hikawa Town in Kumamoto Prefecture yesterday, I offer my heartfelt prayers for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in this major earthquake (Reiwa Kumamoto Earthquake), and extend my deepest condolences to the bereaved families and my sincere sympathies to all those affected by the disaster .
I sincerely hope for the earliest possible rescue of lives, reconstruction and recovery in the affected municipalities, and support for those who have suffered .
Although my contribution may be modest, I would like to offer my support and am thinking about what I can do to help .
