Here it is, the final day. I hope you enjoyed reading about my experiences. I'm really sorry that I didn't have many fun pictures to share. I was honestly so busy and since everybody and their momma was taking pictures I merely didn't feel inclined to do so. Anyway, here's the last entry!
February 28th - Sunday
The last day was basically us all being lazy as heck. Since Manuel injured himself the day before, even he slept in (which is extremely abnormal for him). After waking up and getting ready around 11, I found out that during the general admission autograph session with Morning Musume there was some merchandise left over so some people were able to get extras and get an extra signature. This was too bad, but considering the amount of exhaustion we faced and the amount of stuff we accomplished, I didn’t beat myself up about it. It would have been nice to have been down there to interact with them then see them off one more time, but I know this won’t be the last time. We ended up going downstairs to The Grove to eat some really tasty food. I got a short rib quesadilla along with deviled eggs and some weird (but tasty) key lime dessert. Since Manuel couldn’t really walk, we all just hung around the lobby for a while. We found out that some of our friends actually ended up at the NASA museum with the girls, which must have been really awesome for them. I had legitimately wanted to go to the NASA center that day so basically Manuel ruined my life!
We slowly dispersed and headed home or to our appropriate airports. While waiting for our rides out, Manuel and I casually talked to Johnny Yong Bosch. I just thought he was any other attendee so I just chilled while Manuel and him talked like old buddies. It wasn’t until later that I found out who I was and felt rather silly. After getting to LA, other than getting lost in a parking lot in the middle of the night with Manuel and having a crazy old Uber driver who talked about the history of Sanskrit the whole drive home (and about the probably future robot revolution), the trip home was uneventful and mostly spent writing this whole journal. Despite the major lack of communication, clarity and organization from Anime Matsuri, the actual Morning Musume stuff turned out to be a major success. I hope the girls never forget this trip, because I doubt any of us fans ever will. My one regret is that I didn’t get to spend more time with all my wota friends. It’s the one thing I look forward to the most during these events and I totally wasn’t able to do it this time around. Until next time, my fellow wota princes and princesses.
