The excitement had finally culminated into the final day. It was time to go to Japan!
I proceeded to go to my aunt’s house in the morning. She prepared a nice and light breakfast for me (qeema and roti) and then we headed out about 3.5 hours before departure time. They let me keep my car at their place, which was very considerate. I have the best family.
The security, check-in and boarding were perfectly fine. The flight was delayed by about 30 minutes, but it was no big deal. This was my first time on Japan Airlines, and it was a nice flight. Still not as good as Singapore Airlines, in my opinion, but pretty high up there. Seats were (reasonably) comfortable, the temperature was always right, bathrooms were plentiful, flight was smooth and the food was decent. Oddly enough, I hardly remember what I ate. There was some chicken dish I had for ‘dinner’ but I can’t remember for the life of me what I had for the second meal. They had a special kiwi fruit drink that I remember that was pretty tasty.
During the flight I spent most of my time either playing Pokémon Yellow or watching Kimi ni Todoke. During the last leg of the journey I casually watched Batman v Superman. We landed without a hitch, I got my luggage, picked up my Wi-Fi hotspot (I did have to ask for directions, but it was simple enough) and got my JR Pass. The lady at the counter reserved my seats for my trip to the hotel with ease. Having been to Japan before, figuring out how to get to my hotel was an absolute cinch. I got there with no issues, prepared my room to my liking and passed the heck out!
