'I'm officially Mrs Cutler!': Kristin Cavallari

She has waited a long time, but Kristin Cavallari finally became a bride on Friday - and she couldn't be happier.

'I'm officially Kristin Elizabeth Cutler!!!!!' tweeted the former MTV reality star after marrying her NFL fiance, Jay Cutler, in a secret ceremony.

The couple had been spotted purchasing a marriage license for the state of Tennessee at the Davidson County Clerk in Nashville earlier that morning, confirming the speculation that their wedding was looming.

Cavallari and the Chicago Bears quarterback already have a 10-month old son named Camden, who was born August 8, 2012, and have now finally made their relationship official.

Along with the delighted wedding announcement, the 26-year-old posted a photo of the couple's complimentary rings.

Kristin's stunningly-delicate diamond-encrusted sparkler was the perfect contrast to Jay's huge, heavy black ring, that looks like it is tough enough to even stand up to the action of an American football game.

While she is originally from Denver, Colorado, and grew up in California, and Jay is from Georgia, he went to Vanderbilt University so no doubt Nashville is still close to his heart.

The road to the aisle has not been a smooth one for The Hills star and her football hunk, who began dating in autumn of 2011 and first got engaged the following April, only for Cutler to call it off a few months later.

By November 2011, all was resolved and Kristin confirmed the happy reunion with a celebratory tweet.

'This time it's official..Jay and I are engaged again,' and the couple welcomed their adorable son the following August.

Kristin, now an aspiring fashion designer, recently enjoyed a bridal shower at The London Hotel in West Hollywood. 

The bride-to-be was joined by a small group of her best girlfriends for the High Tea themed party, which was sponsored by CIROC vodka. 

While Kristin found fame on MTV reality TV shows Laguna Beach: The Real OC and The Hills, the blonde beauty revealed she wasn't inviting any of her former castmates to her wedding.

She said: 'It's going to be family and really close friends. If the wedding were bigger, I would have loved to invite Audrina (Patridge), Stephanie (Pratt) and Heidi (Montag).

'It's going to be perfect. We're ready to be together for the rest of our lives,' she recently revealed, adding. "Everything is planned and ready to go, but that's all I'm going to tell you.'

The young mum told E! host Giuliana Rancic that Camden is hopefully the first of many children. 'We want a bunch of kids.'
