What's going on guys? ^^ I've been super busy this week, so I'm sorry that I couldn't write this blog on Monday like I promised X(

On Sunday the 22nd July, I went to the Police Academy for my fitness testing. Here's a picture of what it looks like.

It is built around an old chapel, and it is a beautiful building =) 僕はこんな建築大好きやで ^^

First up, we had the psychologic testing, which consisted of about 400 T/F questions about our personality. That took a fair amount of time, and wasn't overly interesting so I won't write much about it =P

I was in a group of 49 men. There weren't any women in our group, but there were some in the group before us. We all walked down from the dining hall where we sat our psychological test to the gymnasium together, where we warmed up and proceeded to do our testing. Basically it went like this.

- Agility Test
We had to run around a bunch of cones and weave through them in under 20 seconds. It is officially called something like 'Illinois Agility Test' if you're at all interested. 20 seconds was very achievable and almost everybody passed it.

- Hand Grip Test
We had to grab a device which measured our grip strength. The minimum was 30 kg in each hand, which I assume everybody achieved. I got 50 in each hand somehow haha

- Pushups
We just had to do 5 pushups on our toes in good form

- Obstacle Climb
We had to climb over an obstacle(跳び箱みたいなやつ)that was 1.3 metres high. Everybody passed this convincingly.

- Prone Bridge (Plank)
We had to hold the plank position for 60 seconds without breaking the straight line from shoulders -> hips -> toes. This was one of the tasks that I assume people would have struggled on.

- Beep Test
We had to get 5.1 which was a relief.

- Swimming
We had to swim 100m in under 4 minutes. I'm not a swimmer at all and it was very doable in under 2 minutes, so everybody passed this (I assume).

So yeh, that was my fitness testing! I passed everything, which was a great relief!

Next, I went back into the middle of Melbourne and met with my friends. We all went and watched a game of footy at the MCG.
Here is a panorama shot that I took on my cell phone of the MCG. (You might have to click it to see the whole picture)

Australian Footy (It is called AFL sometimes), is a very unique type of football, so I'll put a video of the sport. You get 6 points if you kick the ball through the middle 2 posts, and you get 1 point if you kick it between 2 of the outer posts, or hit one of the middle posts. It is a super hard game to explain, so please have a look!

The two teams playing in our game were called "Richmond" and "North Melbourne" and they were both teams from Melbourne. The game was very close, with the final score being Richmond 99, North Melbourne 103.

All in all, it was a fantastic day!
