Dear students

This will be the last one that I write to you in class.

First of all, all of you did a good job in writing essays.

I do hope you will make full use of what you have learnt in this class.

Here are some points I want to remind you of..

1. It is very important to review what you have written.

Even professional translators take time to review their writing.

Unless you take pains to make something complete, your work will be worthless.

No one cares for worthless works.

Even though you cannot make something perfect, at least what you can do is you do not make careless mistakes.

2. Whenever you look up a word in the dictionary which you do not know in English,

please check the usage of the word on the search engines such as google,

If you directly translate Japanese into English, it is often a case that the sentence translated into English sounds strange or weird.

3. Whenever you want to convey your thougthts in English, explain them with the use of specific examples. Keep in mind that you always write something pecifically and precisely.

4. Whenever you quate others' opinions, you have to clearly identify them and use quatation marks or reporting verbs; otherwise what you quated becomes plagiarism.

You won't take this writing & Editing class any longer,

I 'll be here and be ready to help you whenever you need me.

I do really hope to see you someday after you graduate from this school.

Keep my email address with you.

I enjoyed learning with you.

Thank you and wish you good luck!

with much love,
