Loss of FBP1 facilitates aggressive features of hepatocellular carcinoma cells through the Warburg effect

 

 

I got some new insight through this article.

The first is that FBP1 was reported to be poorly expressed in lung cancer tissues and cells.

The second is that restoration of FBP1 reduced growth, invasion and glycolysis in lung cancer cells. 

The third is that FBP1 is also downregulated in gastric carcinomas and gastric cancer cells.

The fourth is that loss of FBP1-mediated metabolic reprogramming resulted in an increased cancer stem cell-like property and tumorigenicity by enhancing the interaction of b-catenin with T-cell factor in breast cancer.

The fifth is that FBP1 restrained cell proliferation and glycolysis by inhibiting nuclear HIF-1a function via direct interaction with the HIF inhibitory domain.
