I had several subscriptions to Glossybox Germany over the last years. My last subscription period just ended and I'm glad it did. Let me tell you why.

Everybody is different
That's probably why Glossybox claims you'll get a personalized box. This is not true though !! I've talked to several people and seen it happen with friends and relatives too. Your beauty profile doesn't matter at all. People who had completely different beauty profiles from myself still received exactly the same products. Every month. I can't even count the times I got products for acne prone skin or enlarged pores even though my profile clearly states that those are not problems for me.
Now, I'm not upset because they send everybody the same products with a few exceptions. I'm upset because they claim there is actually some kind of variety in the boxes that is not completely random. From what I have seen, you get one of the things they have in stock. Doesn't fit your beauty profile? Glossybox doesn't care...ガーン

What you'll actually get
Body lotion, hand lotion and blue pencil eyeliner. I can't even begin to tell you how much body lotion I own now. It's like every box contained at least one of the aforementioned. Pretty much everything else is stuff I had never heard of before or drugstore brands. Don't get me wrong I like some drugstore products. I buy drugstore products. That is not a problem per se. But if the boxes start feeling like a drugstore haul every single month, that can get depressing rather quickly. Again the problem arises from what Glossybox promises. Novel products, fantastic classics. Sure, that statement is a bit wooly, but if you hear stuff like that, does it evoke pictures of Neutrogena hand lotion?

But are there really no good products?
There are. This heavily depends on personal preference though. Now my real pet peeve here is that often products that are actually great and I'd love to buy them, after I've run out, are not even sold in Germany... Sometimes brands they send aren't even available online, because those are drugstore products from other countries. Yeah, I liked this, but I'm not travelling half of Europe for it.

Is it worth it?
That depends. The products you get are worth more than what you pay. If you don't care what you get and use products even though your skin or hair need different products (or if you are an avid collector of handlotion にひひ), definitely go and subscribe. If you actually care about the products you put on your skin and won't use every single product, you're going to lose money.

I have been suckered into subscribing 3 times now. Every time I regretted my decision to pay for a Glossybox. Hopefully in the future, I won't make that mistake again.
For reasons I don't understand, recently clients have started flirting with me at work. べーっだ! I haven't had that happen in years, at least not to this extent.

The whole thing was mostly harmless. But today a new client came in. I have seen him exactly once for 5 minutes before, while he made an appointment. Today he started a conversation by telling me, he saw me at a bus stop some days ago and thought about driving me home. Is that considered normal now? Are office workers now driven home instead of insane by clients? Is that a thing? What is going on? えっ

I'm still not sure how he interpreted the look on my face, but the fact he kept talking to me, tells me he probably did not read it as I intended ( ̄□ ̄;)!!

For future reference, what would be a reasonable reaction to something like that, considering I'm still suffering from crippling shyness and just can't think of anything to do... ガーン
