"Everything is a gift of the universe." by Ken Keyes Jr.
"Precious: Based on the Novel "Push" by Sapphire" is one of the successful low budged films with a few location shootings.
And this is a film that I wanted to watch and, then, regret to watch

It is a dark and heavy world. Thing are more than I thought.
In a half of the film, anytime Precious feels a strong emotion to be concealed, she becomes somebody else in her mind; model, movie star, and singer.
It has a strong visual effect to express her cry and pain.
Her decision to stay away from Mary's madness is a speak of hope.
"To be upset over what you don't have is to waste what you do have" is another quote I read from Ken Keyers Jr.. Does it apply for the end of the film

Again, things are dark and heavy

Still it might be just a part of the society though.

The best way that I can describe Mary is insanity. That's the best way that I can describe her. Mental illness. She has it. Willing to love herself, unwilling to love herself. She has it. Destructive. Mary is what the most of people will consider a monster.
Why does Mary allow her daughter to be abused? I'm not sure how to answer that question. When you ask people that has allowed their children to be abused, you'll never really get a clear answer. Because it's something that when you look up years later, you are like "OMG what did I do?" But while you were in it, most of people don't even look at it as being abusive. Why Mary is in it? Why Mary is doing the things she is doing? I really don't believe that she feels like it's abusive. She feels like it's a way of life. That's just the way it's been.

For as painful, that's the story is. It's victorious. Because, in the end, she wins. So, for painful as it is. For me I believe "push" means baby. If you keep pushing, if you keep moving forward, you’ll get the finish the line the way you want to get to it.
